5 Reasons to Exercise

I know we’ve all heard that exercise is important. I don’t mean to beat a dead horse here… but it is something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately. I am so grateful for the benefits of exercise that I’ve found to be true in my life, so I want to share my top reasons I exercise with all of you! Let’s jump in!

It Can Help You Get a Better Night’s Sleep

This one is a HUGE one for me. I have always had a hard time falling asleep at night. Be it laying in bed thinking about the future or just plain staring at the ceiling because my mind won’t shut off. Luckily, exercising can help with this! By exercising each day, your body will react by giving you a more restful sleep at night.

It Works as a Great Stress Reliever

Going through high school and my first few years of college, I would almost always use running as a stress reliever! Exercising gives us endorphins in our body which help to relieve pain and stress. If you’re ever feeling overwhelmed, try busting out your favorite pump up songs and going for a run (or whatever type of exercise works best for you). I promise it works!

It Can Improve Your Overall Appearance

I’m a huge proponent of “look good feel good”, and exercising is a great way to do this! Even if the results are small at first, those results truly can make a difference in how you look and feel. If you are looking for a change, try a new exercise routine, and see how it goes.

It Can Decrease Your Risk of Getting Sick

The benefits of exercise go well beyond the outward physical appearance. The more you exercise, the greater your ability to withstand illness. Exercising boosts your immune system and can even prevent different diseases and heart conditions later in life!

It Can Help You Become Stronger

Last but not least, exercise helps you to boost your overall strength. This is probably my favorite reason to exercise. It is more than stress relief–more than physical appearance–more than the sleep benefits. Exercise makes you stronger. And to be strong is a good feeling.
